„…Theremin player Gilda Razani, Hanzō Wanning on keyboards, and percussionist Fethi Ak created a non-religious yet deeply spiritual communal experience through their fascinating interplay of electronic soundscapes and Oriental rhythmic structures. Razani vibrated imaginary strings in the magnetic fields of her theremin, Wanning painted melancholic tonal colors with the synthesizer and played with power on the keyboard, while Ak delivered a dense, ethnically tinted fireworks display of delicate rhythms on djembe and tablas.
The fact that Razani, who originally comes from Iran, dedicated several pieces to the women who lost their lives in the fight against the regime there added a necessary political dimension to the concert. The sound world of this trio can be heard at techno festivals like Fusion—yet here in this church, it unfolded a spiritual intimacy that will surely remain unique.“
